The Academy recognized several distinguished environmental engineers at its Awards Luncheon held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Thursday, April 26, 2012:

• Gordon Maskew Fair Award - C. P. Huang, Ph.D., BCEEM & Otis J. Sproul, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE
• Edward J. Cleary Award - Joseph F. Malina, Jr., P.E., BCEE
• Honorary Member - LT General Robert L. Van Antwerp, Jr., P.E.
• Stanley E. Kappe Award - Stephen G. Lippy, P.E., BCEE
• W. Brewster Snow Award - Sarah Ness
• W. Wesley Eckenfelder Graduate Research Award - Xia He
• Excellence in Environmental Engineering Education Award - George Tchobanoglous, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE

Presentations were also made for the winners of the 2012 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Awards. PEER Consultants took home the top prize, the Superior Achievement Award, for their project, Witsand iEEECO^TM (integrated energy environment empowerment-cost optimization) Sustainable Human Settlement.
